The Sokil Arts Eco Retreat is one of those magical locations that just oozes soul. Tucked away in the forest inside the Otways National Park it is a truly serene spot.
Nina and Josh really wanted to focus on bringing their friends and family together to share an experience. They did this by setting up glamping tents for everyone to spend the whole weekend. Sokil Arts Eco Retreat with it’s self catering facilities made creating this communal atmosphere a breeze.
To continue the natural theme of the weekend Nina and Josh had planned to have their ceremony outside. Unfortunately the Otway weather was not cooperative with this plan and graced us with showers throughout the day. This was taken in everyone’s stride and the ceremony was relocated indoors, which frankly added to the intimate feel of the day. Big shout out to celebrant Zena Lythgo for producing the perfect ceremony.
Thankfully once the ceremony was finished we caught a brief gap in the rain and could make use of some of Sokil’s unspoiled bushland to make some portraits before rushing back inside before the next downpour hit.
After an awesome feast laid on by the Daily Food Co. it was time for speeches which were both heartfelt and entertaining.
Nina (along with her sister Lara) run the Point Lonsdale branch of No Lights, No Lyrca. Therefore it should come as no surprise that their dance-floor was full of fun and kept going well into the early hours.
