This year’s AORA Conference took place at SeaWorld on Queensland’s Gold Coast and once again saw speakers, delegates and exhibitors from across Australia come together to discuss the pressing issues around the recycling of organic waste, whether that be composting or other approaches.
The conference kicked off with the customary demo day where guests were able to see a huge selection of machines in action and also speak directly with the manufacturers and dealers. These conversations are really vital when making purchasing decisions as machinery is a lot more than their specifications.
The following two days saw speakers from across Australia (and a few from overseas) discussing the future of the industry. It was informative to hear people look at organic recycling through a mix of scientific, policy and business lenses.
While plenty of work took place at the conference there were also plenty of chances to build relationships between sessions, at the outstanding gala dinner (congratulations to Greg Whitehead for being recognised as an AORA legend) and on the wonderful tour of Shark Bay.
All in all another exceptional event and I’m looking forward to next year’s edition where NSW will be the host.
